Travel posters: Krakow
I got commissioned to create travel posters of Krakow, a city in Poland. Inspired by a rich history of Polish posters I designed decorative posters in retro style.
The first one pictures the Wawel Cathedral (which traditionally has served as the coronation site of the Polish monarchs) and highlight its construction made of many architectural parts. The geometrical artwork stays quite true to the actual image of the building. The colors: gold, patina, brick red and other, create an elegant look.
The other poster shows the St. Mary's Basilica during the night. The gold color is prominent here as well, this time contrasting with the dark blue sky. The "O" in the "Krakow" name doubles as the moon.
Illustrated educational map for teenagers
GD Events agency needed to create a painted map with several dozen characters for the National Culture Center. I was happy to take on this task.
The map serves an educational game about patriotism. It's filled with challenges about Poland, its history, tradition, nature, symbolism and civil rights, all divided into 5 paths in different lands.
The style of the drawings was to be lively, fun, cartoon, colorful and attractive. I also tried to model the characters look and clothes after historic images or most recognizable more recent depictions.
Cartoon drawings for teenagers
For a language course, I drew these funny illustrations depicting unusual themes: a striped whale with a toothache, a robot winning gold in the Olympics, a snake wearing diving equipment and a superhero with ice skated riding a motorcycle. The drawings use a dynamic stroke and an attractive coloring style, highlighting the key elements.
I'm proficient with black and white or color illustration in various styles. Here is a selection from 67 realistic drawings for an activity book for children. It was important for every object to be easily recognizable.
First Aid spot illustrations
An example of a less realistic, more simplified style, that is clear and pleasant. These drawings were made for the Pearson company and used in social media posts to promote a first aid course for teachers.
Fruit, Vegetable and Plant illustration for packaging
Natural, traditional ingredients are worth emphasizing on labels with hand-drawn illustrations. It is time-consuming but worth the work.
For the PureRein brand, I have designed the logo and subsequently a full line of over 20 packages with black and white plant drawings.
For the Marcus Fresh brand, I have created (along with a logo redesign) various packaging designs with hand-drawn illustrations in various styles.
